The Financial Fund for the Development of the River Plate Basin was founded in 1974, with the mission of contributing to the economic and social growth of its member countries: Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Paraguay and Uruguay.
Since 2012, it began the process to be transformed into a development bank with the objective of financing small and medium-sized projects, especially in vulnerable urban districts, rural areas and border regions.
By doing this, FONPLATA complements the work of other institutions, so that the benefits of development reach all citizens of the River Plate Basin.
Our goal is to continue growing as a financial institution and consolidate our mission: bringing development closer to the people.
