Henrique Pissaia


Henrique Pissaia serves as Chief of Staff of the Executive Presidency and General Coordinator of Strategic Alliances for FONPLATA - Development Bank where he has worked since 2017.

He has over 10 years of professional experience, and worked in Latin America, Africa and Asia. He held office for 6 years in the Ministry of Planning of Brazil and on behalf of that country has held positions on boards, directories, banks and funds dedicated to national and international development, such as IDB, ADB, CAF, FAD, IFAD, FONPLATA and African Legal Support Facility.

He has also worked in other multilateral organizations such as the United Nations, where he represented the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) before the council of Food security and d participated in the working group for development agencies, amongst others.

A Brazilian citizen, Pissaia has a PhD in International Economics from the University of International Business and Economics in Beijing (China) and a Master of Laws from the University of California, Berkeley (USA). He is a lawyer for UNICURITIBA (Brazil) and holds certifications in Law and Development at the University of California and Harvard University (USA).
