Daniel Correa


Since April 2021, Daniel Correa is the Strategic Development Director of FONPLATA – Development Bank, after more than twenty years of professional experience in the banking industry, development projects, and design of economic policies.

He has been public servant in Paraguay for most of his career, holding several positions in the Ministry of Finance, before becoming its Deputy Minister (2013-2016) and, later, President of the Banco Nacional de Fomento (BNF – National Development Bank).

In the private sector, he has been Director of International Affairs and Market Development at Puente – Brokerage House and has worked for PriceWaterhouseCoopers. He has also provided consultancy services on the management of debt strategies and restructuring, and investment projects for multilateral organizations, multinational corporations, investment banks, and public and private institutions.

Paraguayan citizen, Correa holds a degree in Economics from the National University of Asuncion (UNA) and a master’s degree in Economics, with focus on Applied Economics, from Auburn University (USA). He also has teaching and research experience at universities in Paraguay and the United States.
