The Development Bank actively participated in the 7th International Symposium on Knowledge and Capacity for the Water Sector, held on July 2-4 at the headquarters of the IHE Institute in Delft, Netherlands.

The event brought together sector organizations, knowledge institutes, and policy makers to explore the significant shifts that have taken place in the water sector over the past decades, the generation and strengthening of knowledge on the subject, especially in relation to the new generation of water and sanitation professionals.

On behalf of FONPLATA, project specialist Eduardo Bogado participated in the session that presented the findings of an ongoing initiative to define a comprehensive capacity-building strategy that addresses the needs of the water and sanitation sector across Latin America and the Caribbean.

During his presentation, Bogado outlined the main challenges and opportunities faced by MERCOSUR countries in the provision of safe water and sanitation services, underscoring the importance of strengthening institutional and technical capacities to improve water resource management and move towards greater resilience in the region.

FONPLATA's participation in this event reaffirms its commitment to sustainable development and improving the quality of life in member countries by supporting projects that promote equitable and safe access to water and sanitation.
