The event, held on May 5 and 6 in Brasília, brought together municipalities from across Brazil and development finance institutions. FONPLATA was represented by Raphael Lenzi, Senior Specialist in Strategic Alliances, who presented the Bank’s financing instruments designed to support sustainable and resilient urban projects.

FONPLATA’s participation included matchmaking sessions, where municipal teams presented their projects directly to development finance institutions, as well as bilateral prospecting meetings aimed at identifying initiatives with the potential to be structured and financed by the Bank.

FinanCidades was organized by WRI Brasil and the Network for Sustainable Infrastructure Financing in Cities (Rede Fisc), with the support of the Brazilian Development Association (ABDE).

FONPLATA’s presence at the event reinforces its institutional commitment to strengthening municipal investment capacity and promoting sustainable urban development across the region.
