FONPLATA & KfW sign financial cooperation agreement to mitigate climate change in the region
The ad-interim Executive President of FONPLATA, Luciana Botafogo, and the Director of KfW Bank for Latin America, Claudia Arce, signed in Santa Cruz de la Sierra — Bolivia a loan agreement for up to 37 million euros for financial cooperation from this state bank of the Federal Republic of Germany.
The agreement implies the cooperation of both institutions for the funding of projects to help mitigate climate change in the FONPLATA sub-region, particularly those aimed at energy efficiency, renewable energy, environmental protection, and sustainable public transportation, as well as infrastructure projects to promote adaptation to climate change, within the framework of KfW's Regional Climate Friendly Program.
Through this loan, KfW highlights FONPLATA's commitment to support sustainable in its member countries. It also helps FONPLATA — Development Bank advance in its mission to promote sustainable projects and programs.
KfW is a State development bank of the Federal Republic of Germany. International development focused on climate change is one of its goals.
