FONPLATA signs Cooperation Agreement with Georgetown University
(Washington D.C., November 5, 2018) FONPLATA announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding with, of Georgetown University’s McCourt School of Public Policy in Washington D.C., which establishes a framework for collaboration between both organizations to promote activities in areas of mutual interest.
The memorandum was signed at McCourt School. Juan E. Notaro, Executive President of FONPLATA, and Michael Bailey, Interim Dean of McCourt School, represented the parties. Ambassadors to the United States for Bolivia, Paraguay and Honduras - Pablo Canedo, Germán Rojas and Marlon Tabora, respectively - were also present.
An internship program for master’s students was also launched at this event. The program, mostly intended for students from FONPLATA member countries, aims at developing professional practice in areas such as project evaluation, green bonds issuance, and partnership development, among others.
Notaro highlighted the high collaboration potential of the agreement, considering the ongoing School’s initiatives, such as the “Institute of Politics and Public Service” and “the Massive Data Institute,” which will enable the development of knowledge exchange forums and activities.
