FONPLATA Holds Executive Board Meeting in Bolivia During Anniversary Week

As part of FONPLATA’s anniversary celebration, the Executive Board held its 209th regular meeting in person in Santa Cruz de la Sierra, Bolivia, with representatives from member countries and the Bank’s executive team in attendance.

The directors addressed items on the institutional agenda and approved new regional integration initiatives, including the Institutional Risk Management Framework and the 2025 Annual Report. Both are critical to the consolidation of the Bank’s strategic management.

The Executive Board discussed the “Sergipe Territorial Development Program – Mais Sergipe”, in Brazil, and approved the “Program to Strengthen Road Corridors in the Province of Chaco – Basic Works and Paving of Provincial Route No. 13 (Sections 3 and 4)” in Argentina. This project aims to improve connectivity, traffic flow, and road safety, contributing to economic and social development and territorial integration. Paving the prioritized sections is expected to reduce travel times and costs and lower traffic accident rates. These initiatives reflect FONPLATA’s commitment to promoting investments that drive territorial development, improve infrastructure, and strengthen regional integration.

In addition, the Board was briefed on progress on new financial instruments and institutional updates, including the consulting process for the creation of committees and the recruitment of an internal auditor, in line with the Bank’s efforts to strengthen governance.

The meeting was attended by all the Executive and Alternate Directors, as follows: Martín Tolivia and Myriam Bozzano (Argentina); Fernando Jiménez and Christian Morales (Bolivia) Fabio Marvulle Bueno and João Rossi (Brazil); Oscar Antonio Pérez López and Francisco Ogura (Paraguay); and Juan Benítez and Valérie Stahl (Uruguay).

Executive President Luciana Botafogo also participated, together with the executive team: Eliana Dam (Vice President of Operations and Countries), Viviana González (Vice President of Strategic Development), Matías Mednik (Vice President of Finance), Elke Groterhorst (Executive Vice President), Karina Pereira (Legal Advisor), and María de los Angeles Calvino (Chief of Staff).

Before the meeting closed, the Executive Presidency presented a report on progress in institutional management, highlighting ongoing initiatives and strategic challenges within the regional context.

With this meeting of its governing body, FONPLATA reaffirms the importance of direct dialogue among member countries and its commitment to institutional strengthening, in line with its mission to promote harmonious development and regional integration.
