FONPLATA Completes Its First Issuance Under the Medium-Term Note Program

On Monday, February 10, FONPLATA successfully issued a sustainable bond through a private placement amounting to USD 40 million, marking the inaugural operation under its Medium-Term Note (MTN) Program, registered in November 2024.

The three-year issuance, referenced to the Secured Overnight Financing Rate (SOFR), also represents FONPLATA's first placement in U.S. dollars, complementing its previous issuances in Swiss francs and Japanese yen. Additionally, this is the fifth operation structured under the Sustainable Debt Framework (SDF), reinforcing the institution's commitment to responsible financing aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals.

Luciana Botafogo, the Bank's Executive President, stated: "We are pleased to announce the first issuance under our recently established Medium-Term Note (MTN) Program, a key step in the evolution of our strategy. This placement also represents FONPLATA's first issuance in U.S. dollars, allowing us to continue diversifying our financing in terms of currency and investor base. Furthermore, the operation marks the fifth consecutive market access within the Sustainable Debt Framework, reaffirming our commitment to responsible financing aligned with the economic and social development of the region."

This transaction strengthens FONPLATA's strategy to continue offering competitive and sustainable solutions to its member countries.
