Campina Grande and FONPLATA launch study on urban mobility in the age of artificial intelligence
The technical document “Campina Grande: the Revolution of Urban Mobility in the Age of Artificial Intelligence” was presented during the 121st National Forum of Urban Mobility Secretaries and Leaders, held in Campina Grande, Paraiba, Brazil. The report was prepared by the Office of Traffic and Public Transport (STTP), the Municipality of Campina Grande, and FONPLATA — Development Bank.
The presentation of the document was one of the milestones of the National Forum that took place on June 11 and 12, organized by the STTP and the National Association of Public Transport (ANTP).
The white paper details the history and transformation of the urban transportation system in Campina Grande, which positioned the city as a national benchmark in urban mobility. The city has managed to integrate artificial intelligence, data-driven management, and citizen participation to modernize its public transportation network, consolidating an innovative and sustainable approach to urban mobility.
In addition, Carolina Benítez, FONPLATA's Project Specialist, outlined the investments in urban mobility infrastructure promoted by the Bank in Brazil. She highlighted the importance of the use of big data and artificial intelligence as key tools to understand user behavior patterns and optimize of public transport supply in real time, supplementing traditional methods of urban planning.
The study will soon be available for download and consultation on the websites of FONPLATA and of the Municipality of Campina Grande.
