FONPLATA signed a loan agreement with the Uruguayan MEF and CND for the Bank’s largest operation in the country
On Wednesday, November 8, the Executive President of FONPLATA, Luciana Botafogo, Minister Azucena Arbeleche, of the Uruguayan Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF), the President of Corporación Nacional para el Desarrollo (CND) and Corporación Vial del Uruguay (CVU), José Luis Puig, and the Vice President of CND and Director of CVU, Ángel Fachinetti, signed a USD-300-million loan agreement to be executed in two stages.
The works will focus on improving the road network for the transportation of agroindustrial and forestry cargo in Uruguay by upgrading key roads for the productive sector and integrating them with the railroad network. This involves the construction and maintenance of road sections, bridges, and drainage, as well as some minor works and urban interventions.
The signing took place in the office of the Ministry of Economy and Finance in the presence of the General Manager of CND, Sergio Fernández, the Financial Manager of CND, Mónica Rodríguez, the General Manager of CVU, Jorge Olazábal, as well as the representatives of Uruguay in FONPLATA's Executive Board of Directors, Fernando Scelza and Valérie Stahl, and the Head of Quality and Portfolio Performance a.i. of FONPLATA, Carolina Vera.
