FONPLATA had a busy agenda during the IDB Annual Meetings.
Within the framework of the meetings of the Board of Governors of the Inter-American Development Bank and IDB Invest, held in Punta Cana from March 6 to 10, FONPLATA’s delegation, led by Executive President Luciana Botafogo, participated in several meetings with international organizations.
The conversations with the representatives of FONPLATA's member countries dealt with the institution's governance, growth strategy, and openness to new members, in line with the new Articles of Agreement.
They also held meetings with several IDB representatives to address issues such as the IDB Group's institutional strategy, risk management, and options for mitigating the effects of climate change, as well as to discuss activities within the framework of the "Routes for Integration" agreement, which was also considered at the meeting with CAF, where possible co-financing and specific thematic funds were examined.
Aiming at finding new synergies and possible cooperation, Luciana Botafogo met with her counterpart from the Central American Bank for Economic Integration, and with high-level representatives of the OPEC Fund.
Likewise, ongoing projects and future collaborations with KfW and AFD were discussed. Besides, the Bank reaffirmed its commitment to Cassa Depositi e Prestiti, of Italy, of a USD 30 million funding, focused on FONPLATA projects related to its Sustainable Debt Framework.
