New Opportunities to Connect Argentine and Italian Companies
With the aim of promoting our member countries’ entry into new markets, FONPLATA is supporting “Italy Meets Argentina,” an initiative organized by Cassa Depositi e Prestiti (CDP) to create cooperation opportunities between Italian and Argentine companies and to strengthen economic ties between the two countries.
The Italian Bank presented CDP Business Matching, a digital platform that enables Italian companies to connect with international partners, organize B2B meetings, and promote their offerings in a global marketplace.
Ignacio Asis, FONPLATA's Portfolio and Results Management Specialist, participated as a panelist in the session on financial instruments and opportunities for Italian and Argentine companies. He shared FONPLATA’s experience in project financing and emphasized the importance of having flexible financial tools tailored to each country’s needs and capable of aligning public priorities with private-sector opportunities.
The event brought together officials, institutional representatives, and business leaders from Argentina and Italy, including Fabrizio Nicoletti, Italian Ambassador to Argentina; Fernando Brun, Secretary for International Economic Relations at the Argentine Ministry of Foreign Affairs; representatives from ICE, UIA, ADIMRA, the Italian Chamber of Commerce in Argentina, PromArgentina, Confindustria, and CDP; as well as companies such as SIMEST, SACE, and MAPEI.
FONPLATA and CDP maintain an institutional relationship that has strengthened in recent years through initiatives aimed at expanding financing options for development projects in Latin America. This shared agenda has produced financing lines targeted at strategic sectors, such as water and sanitation, and reflects a common vision about the importance of mobilizing resources, knowledge, and international partnerships to support impactful investments in the region.
These forums reaffirm FONPLATA’s commitment to fostering public-private synergies and to identifying new opportunities for investment, cooperation, and productive development in Latin America.
