On Friday, May 17, Óscar Llamosas, FONPLATA's Vice President for Strategic Development, attended ALIDE's General Assembly, held in Fortaleza, Brazil. During his intervention in the panel “Perspectives for infrastructure financing”, he presented the Development Bank and its strategic partners, stressing the need to reduce infrastructure gaps and the importance of investing in the sector to boost the development of countries.

Llamosas also addressed the challenges faced by Latin America and the Caribbean in the post-pandemic economic recovery, highlighting the fight against climate change, as well as the goals of decarbonization, mitigation and adaptation to new weather conditions.

Additionally, he announced the increase in the Bank's authorized capital, approved this year at the Board of Governors, from USD 3 billion to USD 6.5 billion.

Finally, he emphasized that FONPLATA's new Articles of Agreement, already in force, updates the institutional governance, consolidates the achievements made and lays the foundations for continued growth, with the possibility of incorporating new member countries and organizations.
