Luciana Botafogo takes office as Executive President of FONPLATA

The event, chaired by the Governor of FONPLATA for Brazil, Renata Amaral, took place at the Development Bank’s headquarters in Santa Cruz de la Sierra, Bolivia.
On April 10, the Board of Governors appointed Botafogo for the Executive Presidency of the Bank for a five-year term, expiring in 2028. She is the first woman to hold this position, in line with the Institution's agenda of renewal and modernization.
Luciana Botafogo has large managerial experience within the Bank, as she has been serving as its Executive President a.i. since September 2022. Previously, from 2018 to 2022, she worked as Operations and Countries Manager. She succeeds Uruguayan economist and engineer Juan Notaro, who held that position for 10 years.
