FONPLATA completes its first JPY issuance under the MTN Program
On August 21st, as part of its strategy to diversify funding sources, FONPLATA executed its first Japanese yen placement under the Medium-Term Note (MTN) Program. The transaction consisted of a private 3-year bond, for an amount of JPY 3.0 billion (approximately USD 20.4 million), with a 1.70% coupon and maturing in September 2028.
Although this is the first yen-denominated issuance structured under the MTN Program, the transaction represents FONPLATA’s fifth issuance in JPY, following the operations carried out in March 2023 and June 2024.
The bond was fully acquired by Japanese institutional investors, reaffirming FONPLATA’s positioning as a regular issuer in international capital markets.
With this transaction —the ninth of the year— FONPLATA has completed eleven issuances in 2025, for an aggregate amount of USD 490 million, reaching 89% of its annual funding target in the capital markets.
