FONPLATA strengthens its international presence in Portugal
The XIV Meeting “Strategic Triangle: Latin America – Europe – Africa,” organized by the Institute for the Promotion of Latin America and the Caribbean (IPDAL), was held on May 21 and 22 in Lisbon. FONPLATA's Executive President, Luciana Botafogo, participated in the meeting and reaffirmed the Bank's commitment to intercontinental cooperation and sustainable development.
Botafogo took part in the panel “Economy – Promoting sustainable economic growth between continents” and shared her views on the challenges for deeper integration between Latin America, Europe, and Africa with international leaders, representatives of multilateral organizations, and government authorities.
In her speech, she underscored the key role of FONPLATA, an agile, close, and flexible bank, with a strong territorial presence in the MERCOSUR countries, and stressed the importance of promoting interregional value chains based on friendshoring, ecological transition, and productive inclusion. “This is the time to strengthen ties between our regions,” she stated.
In addition to participating in the panel, the Executive President held bilateral meetings with Portuguese political and economic actors. In an interview with Diário de Notícias, she discussed the Bank's evolution and the prospect of new member inclusion.
The presence of Luciana Botafogo in Lisbon marks an important step in FONPLATA's internationalization strategy, deepening partnerships with other regions and opening new opportunities for collaboration.
