S&P changes FONPLATA’s outlook to stable and confirms risk rating at A
In the report published on January 30, 2024, S&P confirmed FONPLATA's risk rating at A and lifted the outlook to stable. The report points out three aspects that motivated this decision.
Firstly, the communication of the Minister of Economy of the Argentine Republic, Luis Caputo, informing of the country's willingness to remain as a full member of the Bank. As a consequence, the conversations with Argentina to advance with the disbursements and the discussion of new funding have been quickly resumed.
Additionally, the Bank is in the process of increasing its authorized capital by USD 3.5 billion, which will be approved by the Board of Governors in the next days.
Finally, the steady evolution of the Bank's internal operational and risk management capabilities.
The upgrade of the risk outlook better positions FONPLATA to resume funding negotiations with multiple and new creditors in a challenging period in which the Bank seeks to reach record disbursement figures in operations, to keep the value proposition to member countries.
